On June 24,Vanity Fairreported that Holmes, 35, got married to her 27-year-old fianc, Billy Evans, with absolutely no former Theranos employees present.While previous reports announced that there had been no official trial date set, CNBC San Francisco Bureau Chief Sally Shin reported on Twitter that a judge proposed the trial begin July 8, and all parties agreed upon that date. Shin followed up by reporting that the next status hearing is set for July 1.Former Theranos President Ramesh Balwani, who faces charges of fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud as well, was also at the hearing. According to reports, neither defendant spoke during the hearing.Holmes and Balwani were charged in June 2018 by the U.S. Attorneys Office in San Francisco. Together, the duo faces up to 20 years in prison and more than $2 million each in fines, on top of restitution to victims.Monday was Holmess first court appearance since the release of The Inventor Out for Blood in Silicon Valley, the HBO documentary that aired in March.Additionally, it was revealed earlier this month that Hulu will be gaining The Dropout, a limited series starring Kate McKinnon as Elizabeth Holmes.The Saturday Night Live star will also act as executive producer alongside Rebecca Jarvis, The Dropout podcast host and creator.
